Blasts from the past in the forest

This year, I invested in a Nokta simplex metal detector, which has proven to be a healthy, stimulating and rewarding pastime. This hobby allows me to appreciate the outdoors and nature while also experiencing the excitement of uncovering unexpected treasures, such as centuries-old coins or, in this particular instance, World War I ammunition.

Fortunately, the ammunition I discovered was not hazardous because the safety caps were in place, this mean that they weren't ready for use and transportation protectors were inside the fuse. Therefore, the shells were not sensitive to movement and impact. Nonetheless, after notifying the authorities, the minesweepers arrived a few hours later, accompanied by police officers, and transported the ammunition to a military site for destruction.

Some info about the fuse used in the ammunition, apparently a KTM-1 fuse.

In conclusion, it was a gratifying and fruitful day, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
