An unexpected discovery from the cold war
2023-10-09 - Bunkers, Abandoned

Quite some time ago our team made an unexpected discovery - near one of the main streets of Vilnius there stood a vent with it's grates open, of course knowing what those usually lead to, we didn't bother to check what's inside and boy we were right.

Upon descenting the narrow vent and crawling trough a tunnel about 5 meters long I reached the bunker's hermetic doors, once open, a characteristic soviet warehouse smell hit my nose, I felt as if i was transported back to the 80's...

This time I wasn't prepared well and didn't bring good lightning equipment, so that's that I guess. Enjoy the photos then!

The point of entry

A classroom, the old desks, chairs... Brings back memories of my 1'st grade in school.

Some posters, most of them depicting a nuclear bomb.

On top of one of the desks there sat a very rare device - an aviation radiation meter DP-3B's educational variant, in fact it's so rare, that no mentions of it had been found online.

Next are the sleeping bunks, that are used as a storage room for GP-5 gas masks.
